3 Eyeshadow Looks From The Balm “Nude’tude” Palette

I bought The Balm Nude’tude eyeshadow palette about 9 months ago based on a rave review I saw of it on YouTube. I’ve used it a number of times but I just can’t warm up to it. The colors are lovely, and the packaging is cute with sassy color names, but most of them are too warm and too dark for me. Most of them are shimmery which is great for younger eyes, but I can only use shimmers below the crease. The shadows also have a lot of fallout, so I end up with a mess under my eyes whenever I use it.

Since I own it, I thought I’d show a few looks that can be achieved with it.

For Look #1 I used NYX Eyeshadow Base in White for the primer and applied it with a flat concealer brush over the eyelid and slightly above the crease, then swept “Stubborn” over the primer. With an angled brush, I applied “Sultry” to the outer corner of each eye along the outer third of the upper lash line creating a sideways “v” and blending it into the crease with a soft crease brush. I used NYX Wonderpencil to brighten the waterline of the lower lashes, and lined the whole eye with Sonia Kashuk pencil liner in “Iced Coffee”. Finish with a coat of L’Oreal Butterfly mascara in black, and groom brows with Salon Perfect Brow Gel.

Look #2 is all about elongating the eye out to the side. For the primer, I applied Mac Paintpot in Painterly from lashes to brow with a flat concealer brush. Apply “Snobby” with a fluffy brush from the inner to outer corner of the lid below the crease. Draw a line with “Sultry” and a small pointed shadow brush along the outer third of the lash line out to the side and slightly angled up toward the brow, then turn the brush and draw a line along your crease in about one third. Then I used “Sophisticated” and a small crease brush and went over the “Sultry” to darken the line. Be sure to really tap the brushes off so you don’t get a lot of fallout. Use a soft crease brush to blend those out and up. Use a small angled brush tapped into “Sleek” and apply it over the line you already made, and blend that out. Line with dark brown liner like Sonia Kashuk pencil in “Iced Coffee” creating a wing out to the side, and apply mascara. Finish brows with IT Cosmetics Your Brow But Better.

For Look #3, I used Mac Paintpot in “Camel Coat” as the primer from lashes to 1/4 inch below the eyebrow, and Maybelline Color Tattoo in “Barely Branded” on the lid below the crease. Apply “Stubborn” over the whole lid right up to the eyebrow. Using a pointed crease brush, put “Selfish” at the outer crease and outer corner of the eyelid and blend with a soft crease brush. Use a small pointed crease brush to apply “Sexy” over where you put “Selfish” to darken up the outer “V”, and blend that across the lid. Use a flat brush to apply a thin line of “Selfish” under the lower lashes. Brighten the lower waterline with NYX Wonderpencil and also use it to highlight the brow bone. Apply grey eyeliner to upper and lower lashes, and 2 coats of mascara.
