Beauty Junkees Eyeshadow Brush Set Review
Beauty Junkees sent me their new 8-Piece Eyeshadow Brush Set to try and review. I’ve been using the brushes for a few weeks and comparing them to my favorite Sigma, Sephora, IT Cosmetics and Sonia Kashuk brushes.
A little background on the company, Beauty Junkees was started by Julia Ritzenthaler in 2013 to provide less expensive (but still good quality) beauty tools because she is a ‘beauty junkee’ herself. Julia’s dedicated to also providing excellent customer service.
I’m happy to be able to provide two discount codes for my readers to choose from depending on which will be the better deal if you should decide to purchase. Use code ANGIYT35 for 35% Off, or code HOTANDFL for $5 Off at the Beauty Junkees Amazon Store.
The Beauty Junkees Pro Series 8-Piece Eyeshadow Brush Set comes with 8 brushes and a makeup case for $39.97 or the brushes are sold separately for $10.97 each
All the brushes have black wood handles with copper ferules, and there’s a mix of natural and synthetic bristles. I really like that each brush is labeled with it’s intended use right on the handle.
The Tapered Blending brush looks almost exactly like my Sigma E40 tapered blending brush and works just as well.
I think the brushes are comparable to my other (more expensive) brushes. I even like these a little better than my IT Cosmetics brushes because the brush heads aren’t as full.
Now that I’m older, I find that brushes with short stiff bristles don’t work because the eyelid skin is crepey and looser, they drag and pull. I look for longer, softer fibers that don’t drag the eyelids resulting in smoother eyeshadow application.
These brushes pick up a lot of eyeshadow, so they really pack on the color, but they can also cause some fallout, so shake or tap off the brushes well for best results.
I used the Beauty Junkees brushes in an eyeshadow tutorial last week (click here to see the tutorial and see the brushes in action)!
Overall, like them very much (maybe even more than my IT brushes because they’re not as fat), they offer more control of eyeshadow.
I’m not a make-up artist so I can’t compare them to every brush out there, but I do think the quality is good and for the set, the price can’t be beat. And if you’re going shopping right now, don’t forget my discount codes: ANGIYT35 for 35% Off, or code HOTANDFL for $5 Off at the Beauty Junkees Amazon Store.
