I didn’t see a powder foundation this year. I am 45 and I still love powder foundation. What was your recommendation this year? Also do you use a primer with it? I seem to have trouble with tackiness before my powder foundation and it’s driving me nuts!! Thanks so much 🙂

  I like the Bare Minerals powder but I have a hard time with the shades… none seem right on my skin but you might want to try it. You can also try Bare Minerals Prep Step, it’s a primer and sunscreen that feels silky smooth on the skin.

I love your videos! Thanks for “taking one for the team”!

I have pretty fare skin but also a lot of redness. I’ve always had problems hiding the overall redness and pores on my nose for this reason. Everyone always put pore minimizers on my nose that matched the lighter areas of my skin because I use light foundation. Whenever I’d use products, I’d end up with little white circles all over my nose.

I’ve found a combination of products that works really well for me. I use No 7 Airbrush Airway Pore Minimising Primer all over my face. After that, I use IT Bye Bye Redness on my nose and chin. It is darker, but it more closely matches the color of my skin in those areas, and hides the pores better. I then pat on my foundation and let it dry. I usually put a second application of foundation on over the pore areas. After that, I pat on the IT Bye Bye Pores pressed powder, which I LOVE! My final step is using an all over loose powder, and I like Smashbox Halo. I put the primer, Bye Bye Redness and foundation on with my finger.

It’s still not perfect, but so far, this is the best my skin has ever looked.

Hi Angie,
Thanks so much, you are saving me a great deal of time and money. As menopause is kicking into high gear I suddenly have under eye bags that are also making my wrinkles look worse. I was wondering if you are still using tight eye since you didn’t mention it in the video. Is it worth the money or would saving up for a cosmetic procedure provide more bank for the buck?

Thank you Angie for your research on all the products over the years. You are the best. I have purchased Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude but I don’t think its the right shade for me. I’ve tried and like the It CC cream in Medium. What shade of Smashbox foundation were you wearing for Best High End makeup of 2016. You look fabulous. And I must tell you that you are more beautiful now than when I first started watching your videos.

I found your videos by searching for “mature skin care” after getting frustrated with so many geared to much younger women. There are so many of us riper makeup lovers, I was relieved to find your sight. I’m past the hot and Flashy stage and starting the sultry sixties, have taken good care of my skin yet found I was spending astronomical sums on products I had begun to doubt.

I am three weeks into switching routines and while I still am finishing an oil cleanser, followed by cream cleanser, I have added the wonder cloth, Thayer’s, Timeless C, E and ferulic; their CoQ 10, Matrixyl Synthe 6, and CeraVe moisturiser in the AM, Mad Hippy at night (already use tretinoin). For cosmetics I have started using the Laura Mercier primer, and the Chanel Lumiere Velvet. Although I have very dry skin, I find if I put the foundation on right after the primer, I have a beautiful, smooth, uncakey looking face. I cannot get over the difference in my skin with my costs halved or more.

Your blog and videos are thorough, honest, and detailed. My pores and undereye wrinkles thank you, my skin thanks you, my wallet thanks you, and I thank you.

Hi Angie,
As usual, thank you for all your terrific recommendations. Can you recommend some products for dry flaky skin, moisturizer, foundation, and sunscreen? Also I’m having trouble with my eyes, I need something soothing and concealing for the eye area, my eye are is chapped from winter and I’m having trouble finding good combos for that area.
