Collective Clothing Haul

It’s sweater weather here in New England so I’ve been in the stores looking for some new sweaters and jackets to update my wardrobe this season. Here are some pieces I bought recently or received as gifts. Instead of a full lookbook with complete new outfits, this is more of a collective clothing haul to show you new tops and how I mix them with older bottoms. . . there are some shoes and necklaces thrown in as well. Hope you like it!

I’m loving this coral sweater to brighten up the dreary winter days! It’s a high/low hem with a boxy fit. The addition of a statement necklace helps bring the front view out of the “plain” zone. Dark wash jeans and fashion-forward taupe booties complete the look.

It was love at first sight with this figure flattering open-weave sweater (and the color is gorgeous)! The statement necklace worn longer (it can be worn 3 different lengths!) jazzes up the look. White jeans aren’t just for summer anymore… the old rules about wearing white after Labor Day are dead — yay freedom!!

With this hoodie it was love at first FEEL! This is the softest, comfiest sweatshirt but the cut and fit are flattering, not frumpy. Old tattered boyfriend jeans and black booties keep the look simple and modern.

Grey Sweater Leggings

Okay, so I’m a minimalist at heart! Give me a plain grey sweater and leggings and I’m happy! This is another soft, high/low sweater (comes in a great selection of colors) with a flattering V-neck. Plain black leggings and slouchy suede boots with scrunched down knee socks are my go-to bottoms for everyday wear.

This dove-grey sweater puts me in the mood to read a book by the fire with a warm cup of tea! There’s enough pattern in the open weave of the sweater so a petite crescent necklace looks great with it. There are my dark wash jeans and those slouchy boots again (love them)!!

Dark hunter green is a new color for me and I love the shade along with the easy boxy fit and cute patch pockets on this top. The dainty 3-strand charm necklace adds a tiny bit of warmth at the neckline. Boyfriend jeans and taupe stacked-heel booties make this a favorite look for all year round.

Anthro Top Front

Anthro Top Back

This top was a christmas gift from my daughter! It’s so cute and can be worn casual or dressed up for date-night. I love the panels of black & white patterns and how the back inset looks like a racer-back vest.

Black Jacket Full

Jackets make a great sweater substitute and I especially love these two with scarf-like front panels that can be draped across and buttoned up for added warmth! The coated denim of this moto-inspired jacket has an almost leather-like look that’s hip and cool. I have a plain black tank top on underneath along with the 2-strand crescent necklace, dark-wash skinny jeans, and black suede booties.

Here’s more of a day jacket but again with the cross-over drapey lapels. It made of super-soft heavyweight flannel with raw edges at the front and bottom.

HM Tee Full

HM Tee Detail

A white t-shirt under a black jacket is a wardrobe staple for any time of year. I picked up this inexpensive white tee at H&M. It’s a linen blend with a little open ladder detail along the edge of the V-neck. The jacket is from my Holiday Party Lookbook but it’s versatile enough to wear for any occasion. I especially love it with distressed jeans and a little healed bootie!
