My empties bin is full once again, so it’s time to take a trip through my trash!
Here’s what I used up this month and whether I liked it enough to re-purchase. . .
This has been my go-to shampoo for over a year now. I still try other shampoos, but I keep coming back to Marc Anthony. The keratin seems to really penetrate my hair and help to calm my frizz. I went to Ulta to get more shampoo but they stopped carrying the Frizz version. I picked up a moisturizing version with Shea Butter and Marula Oil to get me through until I get my order from drugstore.com
I’ve been using this conditioner for about a year as well and I love it! It really helps to keep my hair feeling healthy and looking less frizzy. I had stocked up last time I purchased this so I already had another in the closet waiting.
I just bought this product to try out a couple weeks ago so it isn’t actually in the trash, but the box it came in was. . . This product was love at first use!! It’s the first leave-in product that totally controlled my frizz. . . I’m stocking up on this one!
I actually used up two of these, the 8 oz. size pictured and the 12 oz. family size (I go through a LOT of sunscreen). It’s easy to apply, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave any trace on my skin while it protects with a mix of chemical UV screening ingredients that provide full broad spectrum coverage. I keep my sunscreen in my medicine cabinet and apply in the morning before I get dressed. With an SPF 50+, I’m protected all day if I’m mainly indoors and just going out briefly or driving. When going outside for longer periods I re-appy every 2 hours. I already got more because I like to have lots on hand all year round.
I stopped tanning the natural (and skin damaging) way years ago but that doesn’t mean I don’t like a golden glow for summer! I apply this self-tanner a few days a week to keep my fake tan looking fresh. Since it tans gradually over a few days there’s never a line where my tanned skin ends and my pale skin begins. I did repurchase this but in the medium/dark shade instead of the fair/light.
I’ve used up another pot of my favorite night time moisturizer. I don’t know what it is about this cream, but it leaves my skin feeling baby soft in the morning. It contains peptides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid. I buy it in the 2 pack at Costco and always have a supply in the closet.
This lightweight, watery serum also contains Vitamin E and Ferulic acid which have been shown to increase efficacy of the vitamin C by 8-16 times. I apply 4-5 drops to face, neck, chest and backs of hands, every morning and a bottle lasts between 3 & 5 months. I’m never without my Timeless C serum so I always order a replacement before the bottle’s completely empty. Use code HF5OFF for $5.00 off your purchase at Timeless Skincare
Matrixyl is the combination of two peptides (palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7) which have been shown to increase collagen stimulation and firm skin while reducing inflammation. This serum is 20% Matrixyl with moisturizing & soothing aloe, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid. This is a clear viscous liquid that spreads and absorbs easily leaving no greasy film. This was my 2nd bottle of Timeless Matrixyl serum I’ve gone through, and I really like it, but I didn’t repurchase it this time. I decided to try another Timeless product that contains the same amount of Matrixyl 3000 and the same other ingredients as this except that it also contains CoEnzyme Q10. I’m trying this Neutrogena retinol product to help the skin on my neck look younger. When I use my prescription retinoid on my neck it gets very irritated, itchy, and red so I wanted to try something milder, but still possibly effective. This bottle lasted about 2 months of nightly use and I have repurchased it. I’ll re-evaluate it after 6 months to see if I think it’s doing anything. . .
