Eyeshadow Tutorial Using Tarte CC Matte Palette
I picked up the Limited Edition Tarte CC Be Matte-nificent Palette the other day at Ulta! It’s got 8 matte eyeshadows and a blush and comes with a little dual-ended brush. The packaging is gorgeous, and I can see from the mix of soft cool tones that I’ll get tons of use out of it!
Here’s the finished look if you have the palette and want to follow along:
Products used in this tutorial:
- NYX Eyeshadow Base in White
- Tarte CC Be Matte-nificent Palette
- Laura Gellar I-Care Pencil Liner in Smoke
- Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara
Step 1:
Using a your finger or a flat brush (IT Cosmetics No Tug Flat Eyeshadow Brush), spread a thin layer of NYX Eyeshadow base over the eyelid starting at the lash line and blending up above the crease almost to the eyebrow.
Step 2:
Using a small stiff brush (Real Techniques Shadow Brush), apply “sand out from the crowd” just below the eyebrow and to inner corner of eyelid.
Step 3:
Using a soft shadow brush, (IT Cosmetics “No Tug” All Over Shadow Brush) apply “pink outside the box” over the eyelid starting at the lash line and blending just above the crease.
Step 4:
Using a soft crease brush, (IT Cosmetics “No Tug” Crease Blending Brush) apply “view from the taupe” in an arc above the crease by placing the brush in the center above the iris and blending side to side. Use your brush handle to visualize a line from outer corner of eyebrow to outer corner of eye. Remember to keep all shadows inside this line for a lifted effect.
Using a short stiff brush, apply the same color just below the bottom lashes.
Step 5:
Using a small pointed crease brush, (Chikuhodo Z-10) place “two plums up” on top of the taupe shadow, angle the brush up and out as though drawing a line from the corner of the eye toward the outer corner of the brow stopping half way. Then turn the brush horizontal and place more shadow above the crease at the outer third of the eyelid.
Step 6:
With a soft blending brush, (Sonia Kashuk Crease Brush) blend “two plums up” upward into the taupe color using circular motions and leaving most of the eyelid light.
Step 7:
Using a small crease brush (Japonesque Pro Crease Brush) apply “dream in chocolate” to the outer 1/3 of the lid from lashes to just above the crease. Blend using the Sonia Kashuk Crease brush to soften.
Step 8:
Tightline upper and lower lashes with Laura Gellar I Care Pencil by pointing pencil tip straight in toward the eye, closing the lid down on the the pencil and rubbing it back and forth gently. Line the upper lid above the lashes.
Step 9:
Curl eyelashes and apply Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara to upper lashes.
