In this week’s Foundation Friday for Over 50s I’m taking a look at Revlon ColorStay Makeup. It comes in 2 formulas, one for combo/oily skin and one for normal/dry skin and since menopausal skin can be all those things at once I tried both!

So glad to see you review this product, that has been my “go to” for eons. I may stray to experiment with something else, but always go back to this classic. Now that I have “discovered “your channel, I will have fun experimenting with some winners, but probably mot abandoning Revlon completely.

I am looking for a foundation for dry and very sensitive skin. I did a matte look. I am over 60 and I have been using Paula’s Choice products for my skin and they don’t burn or irate my skin.

Hi Angie,

I have read that L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder foundation with SPF 18 may be a dupe for Channel Lumier Velvet. Not sure since I have never used the Channel. Would love to know what you think.

– I have followed you now for 2 years, and purchased Phytoceramides after your recommendation. Took them for 6 months and I saw some mild results re. dryness. However, I am switching to Sea BuckThorn (from Sea BuckThorn Wonders) since my Swedish mother-in-law started taking them a while ago and reports her hair and skin have never looked so hydrated and soft. Can’t wait to see the results!

– I see we usually have the same opinions on products (PrepPrime is my HQ sunscreen) so I’d like to take the liberty and suggest “Replenix Ultamatte” sunscreen (tinted) — really good!

– Have you looked into Deciem and their The Ordinary line yet? They have great Niacinamide, Peptides and different kinds of Vitamin C — it really is worth visiting the site! I have exchanged my Timeless products for their counterparts and I am really liking them.

I was so excited to see you were reviewing Revlon foundation today because it’s the one I’ve used for years. I do have people comment on my skin and most do not believe I’m 60. I have an oily t-zone so I always follow with a translucent powder which doesn’t hold all day but if I use blotting tissues in the afternoon, I can reduce the shine. My daughter tried this foundation and broke out terribly, so clearly it does not work on everyone’s skin. I did write Revlon last week and they say they did not change the formula but clearly they did because the sunscreen has affected my ability to apply it well. I always used a brush and now it smears unless I use a beauty blender. Still love it, though. Thanks for the review.
