Foundation Friday Over 50 | Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue!

Move over Double Wear! There’s a new hydrating, long-wearing foundation in town! I’m putting Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Foundation SPF 45 to a multi-day wear test on more mature “less-than-perfect” skin.

Watch the full video to see 3 days of testing including flash test & natural/sunshine lighting!

This foundation is $45 for 1.2 oz, and comes in 20 shades. It provides buildable medium-to-full coverage with a luminous finish in a hydrating formula that promises to wear for 12 hours.

The SPF 45 is from a mix of chemical and mineral sunscreen ingredients. It’s a water and silicone base with algae extract, vitamin e, a few flower extracts, some botanical oils and fragrance.

I tested Estee Lauder Futurist over 3 days with different sunscreens, primers, and applications, on my 57 year old skin with wrinkles, enlarged pores, and discolorations.

I usually don’t like luminous foundations, but I loved this on 1st use! It delivered medium coverage that felt hydrating and looked youthful. The finish is a little too luminous for me but it’s a really pretty soft glow that I loved on most of my face but did powder over in my t-zone to smooth and mattify my more textured areas.

It didn’t settle into pores, but did settle into my smile lines a tiny bit but it didn’t crack or look cakey. I was really impressed with the wear, especially on my nose where it looked only the slightest bit worn off after 10 hours – and that was without primer!

I tried it with a couple of primers but didn’t think they helped it to last longer or look better. It was easy to apply with a blending sponge or a brush but didn’t go on so well with the fingers.

It felt comfortable, and set and didn’t transfer or come off when I was wearing a baseball cap one day! It’s winter now and my skin felt hydrated wearing this so if you love Double Wear but found it drying this could be great for you!

Overall, I really LOVE this foundation and it’s a new holy grail!
I can highly recommend it for women with dry skin as well!
