Angie I love your reviews you pick apart make up like I do so I trust your judgement and recommendations. Your videos are super helpful ! I would love be for you to do my makeup! If you will please email me. I have dry skin that’s sensitive and I’m allergic to linilalool making it hard to find products . Smash box is on my approved list as well as Channel. However I like the price of Smashbox better.

This looks like such a great foundation except for the color range. I’m so pink, I doubt I’ll find a match but I may try. I adore the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet but it’s expensive, especially in Cdn dollars, which have dropped like a stone against both the US dollar and the Euro in the past two years. It would be great to find something a little less pricey that I could wear daily. Right now I save my Chanel for high days and holidays and make do with powder foundation (which works pretty well) the rest of the time. I love your videos and check every week for your new ones. At my age (67), it’s great to find a vlogger over fifty (even if you don’t look it!).

My friend told me about you a week ago and I have to say, you have inspired me!!! I am 45 with 3 young kids and just stopped taking care of my face and wearing make-up. I am very fair and have light hair and brows and lashes. I have always struggled with mascara, which makes me look 100% better but it always flakes, smudges or is impossible to get off. I have not seen a review on mascara – can you share which ones are you favorites?
Im headed off to Nordstrom tomorrow and can’t wait to get my new foundation – Chanel – the Holy Grail.

Happy new year Angie,

I have also been searching for holy grail foundation and your videos have helped me on that quest.

I have the Chanel perfection lumiere (not velvet) and that has been working pretty well for me.

However, I just tried the smash box this week and I think it wins the grand prize. I have mature combination sensitive skin with hormonal acne. I always had to use concealers with foundation and it ended up caking and further irritating blemishes by the end of the day.

Smash box seems more like a medium coverage so I don’t need to rely on concealers so much. It lasted all day and my skin felt so smooth without the flakiness I used to see about 3 o clock.

Super super happy with this purchase. It may be a game changer for me. Thanks so much!!!!

Purchased this Smashbox foundation (shade 2.1) based on your review. It’s excellent. I have large pores and some fine lines. This foundation blurs out all the imperfections. The weight is perfect. I apply a single application using a damp makeup sponge. This foundation stays smooth over the Smashbox primers that I normally use. While I always set my makeup with loose powder, it really isn’t necessary with this foundation.

I’m half Asian, so I have fair skin with a yellow undertone. I’ve had difficulty finding a good color match in other cosmetic lines. Much to my delight, shade 2.1 is a perfect match for me. And I do mean perfect–absolutely no detectable makeup line along my jaw. While I liked the Chanel, I couldn’t get a good color match. This Smashbox foundation more than made up for my disappointment in Chanel.

Oh, wow, Angie. I’m so excited to see you found an almost holy grail foundation. I really want to try this one. I was hesitant to try the Chanel due to the perfume and that’s its recommended for normal to oily skin. I like the idea that this is hydrating and perhaps a little more medium to full coverage. My only worry is you saying its not so cool of an undertone. I seem to be a perfect match in L’oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Creamy Natural, C3. Do you recall what color you tried in that foundation?

You are absolutely gorgeous in this vlog!!! That shirt (I’ve noticed you’ve been at Bloomingdales more often lately!), the earrings, your lip color….topped with your makeup that is just showcasing your eyes beyond belief.

Thank you a million times for being a blogger that really looks at everything from walmart to neimans all year long! My hugest complaint about any blogger is slowly but surely they all move to spokesman for one company only to share nonstop 100 dollar t shirts! (As if we don’t notice). You really inspire me to not give in to aging process without the pressure of thousand dollar procedures!

This has been my holy grail foundation for about 2 years now. I apply it over an oil-free primer with a dampened Sedona Lace FB 07 foundation brush. Then I finish it with some Jane Iredale pressed powder to warm it up and add some sun protection. I’m glad you liked it almost as much as I do, as I think we have similar skin.

Love your effert in the search for the holy grail in foundation during 2016. Tried Chanel foundation and it was fabulous. Thanks so much for your tips and keeping us fifty plus year olds looking good inside and out.
