Hi Angie! I just discovered Hot & Flashy…yup! I am a Senior…and have dressed conservatively all my life…basics/classics/casual chic……but I have this beautiful leather bomber jacket which has some shoulder padding + gold horseshoe embellishments all over the black jacket…and I was wondering if it is outdated…I was planning to take it along + add scarves + inner tops with jeans/black pants or white pants…for my Oct Fall trip to Calif/Nevada……please give me your comments! thank you! you are lovely, by the way….I have shopped all my life in almost all the stores you mentioned! haha…ZARA/Nordstrom’s/Marshalls/Target/Saks all my favs!

  Hi Anna~ Without seeing the jacket I can’t say if it’s outdated or not, but it may be depending on how big the shoulder pads are. . . If you love the jacket, I’m sure you’ll make it work. xo ~angie

Hi Angie,
I have just been watching some of your fashion videos, and I am amazed at your wonderful ability to shop and put clothes together! Just beautiful! I am also in my 50’s, and very fit, but have ultra conservative taste (read: dowdy, often). I would love to learn to dress more fashion forwardly. Can you recommend a resource, besides continuing to watch your educational channel? How often do you shop? (I just do not like to shop that much!)

  Thanks Lisa! That’s a tough question… if you don’t like to shop it can be hard to put outfits together yourself because it’s a lot of time in the stores and trial and error. For you, I’d recommend you try a personal shopper (if you can afford it). My friend used one and she came to the house, assessed what she already had, took pics and then went shopping and brought the clothes back to the house for try on. She got commission based on the total purchase, but my friend saved time, gas, and she looks so much more put together!

      Have you heard of the online shopping service Stitch Fix? I have recommended this to several friends who hate to shop and they love it. You go to their site and fill out a very detailed style profile and they will pick out 5 clothing items, sometimes accessories, and mail them to you once a month. You can actually have the boxes sent whenever at whatever frequency you like. You can keep all or none. If you keep the whole box you get 25% off your entire purchase. If you keep none you pay a $20 styling fee.

I like your new tops, but I don’t like my upper arms anymore enough to wear sleeveless that often. 🙁

Love the haul! Looking forward to shopping on vacation while in Las Vegas next week.

Regarding the tops you bought, I’m now at the point if a top requires a special bra (strapless, cross-cross) I move on…I’m getting old

Regarding your plantar fascitis….
My husband and I both got it at the same time (new house with all tile and hardwood floors). His was easily relieved with over the counter inserts but mine persisted in spite of many OTC inserts, semi-custom and custom inserts. What finally worked for me was Good Feet arch supports. These were a miracle! and I can’t say enough good things about them. I was hesitant to spend that much on them because they cannot be returned for cash, only store credit, but OMG I began to tell a difference almost immediately. A slight discount is given when their series of three is purchased (a very aggressive support, a medium one and the least aggressive one). If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t purchase the most aggressive one, but I love the other two. The least aggressive support I use in my indoor house shoes. I only purchase shoes with extremely good arch support (i.e. Clarks) and use the G/F supports with them. I know how painful this condition is, so wanted to pass this tip along. I’ve had mine about five years now and I notice it when I don’t wear them.
