Hey Angie –
I was so glad to find your site and videos. I turn 50 this year and had never really known about skin care and makeup. I may have thrown on some mascara and blush more than a decade ago, but really knew nothing. I was able to corral one of my small group leaders (she’s 19) to teach me a little about make up. But she is 19 so…it didn’t work for me. I found your site and wanted to share 2 things; first, I may be turning 50 but I FEEL 36. I was glad to see that your site showed clothing that doesn’t make someone feel old or look old or matronly and second, your makeup tips and skin care has been helpful. I have hooded eyes but I can totally fix them with make up. I just ordered some clothes from this look book. So glad that you have this site… yf, Stephanie

Hi Angie, I just recently discovered your blog and have enjoyed watching/reading your posts.

I have been a Loft, Banana Republic, Nordstrom and Zara (before they opened in the US,) shopper for years until about 7 years ago when I was introduced to cabi, a line of women’s clothes sold through home shows and private shopping appointments with a personal stylist. I fell in love immediately, not only with the clothes but also with the concept, shopping in the comfort of your home with friends or privately!
I’m 55 years old, have always loved fashion and anything to do with the arts, so this was it for me… 6 years ago I became an Independent cabi stylist… not only do I now have a closet full of cabi but I have also built a wonderful small business! I love helping women pick the right styles for their body type and life style which makes getting dressed for business, travel, pleasure or just weekday chores like driving the kids to school enjoyable and easy.
I do still shop at Zara and Nordstrom every once in a while but cabi is my #1 clothing brand.

I see you use solid colors and mixed textures but no patterns. Do you recommend staying away from patterns all together?

Dear Angie,
Thanks for the year end videos! I love that you have done the research to make it easier for us to make decisions about our cosmetic purchases. Thanks, too, for the LookBook. After I am out of my LuluLemon or workout gear, I like my jeans, sweaters and boots for winter. I wear a lot of Tshirts, long sleeved Tshirts and light sweaters as you modelled in your LookBook so your outfits were dead on for me. I do love the chunky oversized sweater look too, but I pair them with a lot of different vests. Three of my favourite shopping spots are Saks Off Fifth, Zara and Aritzia (I’m Canadian and Aritzia is a Canadian company but I know they have several stores in the US, including one in NYC). I do shop Nordstoms whenever I am in the U.S. Looking forward to you next video!

Hi Angie! Love, love your style and thank you soooo much for doing all the work for us!! I just wanted to clarify – the Kendra Scott earrings are the ivory/gold combo or the silver? The link brings me to gold but they look silver in video… and the necklace is in the hematite, correct? My shopping bag is full!!! So happy you get commission – you spend so much time helping us all in so many ways, glad to see you get rewarded for something at least!!

I’m 50 and in a creative industry…if I’m committing to enduring Chicago traffic and parking to go to a brick and mortar store, my pick is Anthropologie. I’ve been happy with the quality and don’t feel like it’s too young (yet). The majority of my wardrobe comes from AYR.com. I simply love nearly everything they sell (especially their jeans). It’s expensive but if you shop with them frequently they do invite you into a discount circle…

I made a few purchases – thanks! I’m wondering, however, if after clicking your link I put one item in my cart and then I “continue shopping” and put another of the same item in my cart, in another color, do you get commission for both items? (And, if I shop for other items in the same shopping bag, do you get any benefit of that? I think you should, because if not for you I honestly would not have gone shopping at Nordstrom tonight.)

Great finds from the flattering Nordstrom sheer Tees to the soft tops and cardis that offer both fashion and a soft, cozy feel. I have been spending a lot of time lately gathering pieces for my spring “workout gear” wardrobe and wondered if you ever considered doing a look book for working out apparel.

Love your look. Can you give us more deats on the articles of society jeans please? They have many different cuts. Also, what size in the free people shirt did you go with. I find they sometimes run large, but it really depends on the style of the shirt.

I love your look books. As a 54 year old women, thank you! Guess what- I bought the super cute black backpack but unfortunately the cinch would not stay, and the snap on the body of the purse wouldn’t stay and one of the pocket snaps wouldn’t close at all. Too bad it was so cute and I loved the large handle and how the weight of the bag was light. I ended up sending it back. Should I try ordering it again? Did you find any of these problems?

Hi Angie – Thank you for the winter fashion show and some great ideas for our age group!! I love Nordstroms but find it a little pricy. I find some nice fashion ideas for our age at The Loft (prices are fairly reasonable and love the sale racks). Occasionally I’ll buy some pieces at J Jill – also great fashion for our age group.
