My Fraxel Dual Laser Experience | Procedure & Recovery Vlog

I got a Fraxel Dual Laser Treatment last week and wanted to share my experience with you. This first post is a vlog of the procedure and the recovery. I’ll be doing another post all about Fraxel, including why I chose this procedure, what it’s supposed to do, what I’m hoping my results will be, cost, etc. in about a week. Then I’ll do the before & after posts at 3 months and 6 months out.

Angie,
I just had my second Dual fraxel procedure. The first I had in October ( because of you) and loved it ! I had 50/50 on the wave lengths ( hyper /pigmentation / texture ). I felt it was slightly painful but my down time was very short.. had it late Thursday and by Monday I was thrilled. I am wondering if your going to have a repeat procedure since you were pleased with your results althouh your other regimes ( many of which I follow) are making your skin look fabulous . Thank you !

Hi Angie, i have red spots, broken capillaries etc and was planning to do 3 sessions of IPL. After trawling your archives, i’m now not so sure! As youve done the Fraxel Laser too, im interested to know if that would address my issues better than IPL? Should I be doing that instead? I definitely dont want to waste my money. Love your work and hope you can help, Thanks Tracy

  Hi Tracy~ IPL is supposed target red and brown in your skin where Fraxel will only treat brown. My experience with both is that they were both more effective on brown than red. Neither cleared up my broken capillaries or redness in my skin. I’ve read that V-Beam Pulsed Dye Laser is the only one that really works on capillaries. Best, ~Angie

You really understand what SHOULD be discussed and covered for a beauty treatment–makes it easier for us viewers in that we don’t have to ask a ton of questions! Been debating fraxel so this has been incredibly informative. Also, you look beautiful!

Just love your review on the products and treatments. I want to get something done for my dark spots but I hear horror stories of people with scaring and people who wound up with criss cross lines on their face permanently after this treatment. Just wondering what the risks really are and if this can be done on a few isolated spots?

Angie you have become my anti aging guru! I just want to THANK YOU for spending the time to share your opinions and your journey though the anti aging ocean of products and procedures that are available to date. Most of us women just don’t have the time or financial resources to waste on procedures and products that just don’t deliver. What happens is we try…we fail to get results and we give up! Hi Angie! well…as everybody says the treatment seems amazing. I will look for it in my country.
I have done radio frequency on my face without the expected results. If you have any review information about this last one I ‘ll appreciate. I haven’t found anything similar as you do.

I’ve done laser before, not fraxel though. It was a series of 5. It did help with my brown spots, but the minute i got a little sun, even with sunscreen, my spots came back. Will be interested to hear what they say about it. You skin looks amazing so would say those 5 days down time was worth it!

  My doctor was very clear that I should avoid any sun exposure for at least 3 months… I’m trying to do that but it is difficult to avoid it entirely.

Hi Angie,

What is this procedure supposed to accomplish vs ipl? I currently get ipl for Rosacea. Does this address redness and broken capillaries?

  No, Fraxel Dual does not target redness, it’s mainly for brown discolorations and texture (wrinkle, pore, roughness) improvement.
