For the first makeup video of 2026 I did a new all drugstore makeup try-on. I tried on a new foundation, concealer, setting powder, blush, bronzer, highlighter, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and lip stick. I then tested the full makeup look for a 5 hour and a 10 hour wear test. Before applying any makeup I always do my skin prep for the day, which is my Angie’s Actives All-in Serum and Active8 Lotion topped with the Healthy Skin Labs Protect SPF 50 tinted mineral sunscreen. So follow along and see how I was able to obtain this beautiful makeup look with drugstore products.
NYX Make ‘Em Wonder Foundation
The first product I bought was the NYX Make ‘Em Wonder Foundation. This foundation comes in 45 shades and I got it in 16 natural beige, which was a pretty good match for me if a little warm. I used the BK Beauty 101 brush to apply it to my face and neck, and it spread really nicely on my skin.
The finish is a soft matte with a little bit of luminosity that comes through, giving me that nice lit from within glow. This foundation is supposed to be long wearing, up to 24 hours, but for me I only need it to last up to about 10.
It didn’t accentuate my pores or the texture of my skin, but there was the tiniest bit of settling into the smile line on one side. Overall, I think this foundation is really pretty and youthful, so I’m very happy with it.
The Illusionist Concealer
For the concealer I decided to try the About-Face Illusionist Concealer, it comes in 32 shades and I tested shade LM1 Warm Olive which was a good match for me. I put a dab beneath each eye and blended it in with my A506 kitten paw concealer brush.
This concealer was very smooth and had good coverage as it covered up the dark spots that I had under my eyes. I saw a little bit of settling into the wrinkles at the inner corners of my eyes, but you’d have to be looking super close or using a 10x mirror to notice it. This concealer looks really, really nice.
NYX Wonder Snatch Setting Powder
For the setting powder, I picked up the NYX Wonder Snatch Setting Powder, it comes in 8 shades and I tested shade Apricot Attitude. I used the BK Beauty 108 brush to press the powder under my eyes and on the front of my cheeks, then sweep away any excess product.
I love how setting powder diminishes the look of my eye puffiness and pores and this one didn’t disappoint. You can see the difference in the photo below where I have the powder on the left and no powder on the right. It plays well with this foundation keeping it looking smooth but not dry or cakey, it looked really nice.

NYX Buttermelt Pressed Powder Blush
The next product I got was the NYX Buttermelt Blush. This pressed powder blush comes in 12 shades and I tested shade U Know Buttah, which is a pinky peach color with a bit of a golden shimmer. I used my A507 brush from my full brush set to apply this product.
This blush was very pigmented so I accidentally went a little heavy-handed with it, but I used the fluffy BK 103 brush to diffuse out the edges. This gave me a more subtle look that was very pretty with a little bit of a glow to the cheeks.
Milani Baked Bronzer
For bronzer I tired the Milani Baked Bronzer, it comes in 4 shades and I tested shade 01 Amalfi Glow. The brush that I like to use for bronzer is the Nikki LaRose N15 brush. I applied the product starting in my hairline in case it was a little dark.
The shade was a nice color, not too warm or dark so I continued applying it to my jawline to fight the look of sagging there. I then contoured the sides on my nose and put a little bit on my upper eyelid as eyeshadow. This bronzer was very powdery and wasn’t the easiest to blend, so I went in with the BK 103 brush again and diffused any harsh edges.
Milani Baked Highlighter
The next product I bought is the Milani Baked Highlighter, it comes in 4 shades and I tested shade 01 Dolce Perla, which has a silvery finish. I used the Nikki LaRose N20 brush because it’s a light, fluffy brush that’s perfect for applying a little but of product with a nice diffused application.
I placed the highlighter at the top of my cheekbone, the inner corners of my eyes, and the top of the bridge of my nose. It looked really pretty and gave me an extra glow at the high points on my face.
Ulta Cream Eye Shadow Sticks
Recently I’ve been really loving the L’Oreal eyeshadow sticks, but I thought for this video I would try something different. So I got the Ulta Eye Shadow Sticks, they come in 20 shades and I tested the shades Beige Pls, In A Nutshell, and You Rock. I first went in with the medium shade of the three, Beige Pls, to carve out my crease and disguise my sagging hood / any puffiness. Then I used In A Nutshell, a pale colored shimmer, on my eyelid to bring it out more. Finally, I used the darker shade, You Rock, to define the outer corner of my eye and make a little wing.
I also used You Rock as top eyeliner and in my lower waterline, which gives me a more subtle liner look that I enjoy over a really dark lower waterline. All three of these shades were really pretty and I like that this product comes in both mattes and shimmers. These are great if you don’t want to spend a ton of time on eyeshadow but still want to do an eye makeup look.
Ulta Automatic Eyeliner
For the eyeliner, I went with another Ulta Beauty product and tried the Ulta Automatic Eyeliners. These eyeliners come in 18 shades, including both shimmers and mattes, and I tested the shades Metallic Pewter (shimmer) and Matte Charcoal.
I started by applying the shade Metallic Pewter to my waterline and I didn’t love how it was going on. So, I switched to the darker shade, Matte Charcoal, which also didn’t give me great color payout in my waterline. These liners do not say that they’re waterproof so that could very well be the reason. However, I also applied the Matte Charcoal shade above my lashes and it was definitely more prominent there.
L’Oreal Extensionist Mascara
The next product I got to try was the L’Oreal Extensionist Mascara. This mascara advertises that it is supposed to make your lashes look up to 5 mm closer to your brows. I had never heard of measuring the distance from the lashes to the brows, so I was definitely skeptical of this product at first. But let me just say after applying just one coat, wow!
I didn’t measure the distance between my lashes and brows, but this mascara definitely gave my lashes, a lot of extra length. I thought this mascara was very pretty and really liked how long it made my lashes look.
Maybelline Super Lock Brow Glue
The brow product isn’t anything new, but it’s a different shade of something that I love that I already owned. It’s the Maybelline Super Lock Brow Glue, it comes in 5 shades and while I usually use the shade Taupe, I decided to test the clear shade.
This product is very thick and very goopy, so I recommend scraping some of it off into the bottle before application. I brushed my brows up and then across the top to lay them down a little bit and give them a little extra dimension. This brow glue will stay in place all day and won’t come off until you wash your face at night.
NYX Lingerie Lip Liner Stain
The new lip liner I decided to try was the NYX Lip Liner Stain, which comes in 12 shades and I tested shade Barely There. This is a lip liner stain in a felt tip pen applicator.
I lined lips, but I didn’t fill them in like I usually do with other lip liners because it didn’t go on very evenly, and it instantly felt a little drying.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
The lipstick I got is one of my favorites, it’s the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick. This is a satin cream lipstick that feels really good on the lips.
This lipstick comes in 10 shades and I tested 014 Tulip and 003 Cashmere. Because I got two shades I applied and wore Tulip until the 5 hour check-in and then I put on Cashmere so you could see both colors.
The Final Look
5-Hour Check-In
At the 5 hour check-in I was really happy with how the overall look was holding up! I especially loved how the NYX Make ‘Em Wonder foundation still had that perfect not too shiny not too matte finish. It looked so pretty after 5 hours, and it hadn’t worn off at all! I think NYX knocked it out of the park with this one. It might even be my new favorite drugstore foundation! I also really liked that the NYX Wonder Snatch Powder wasn’t looking dry or cakey.
Unfortunately, the About-Face Concealer gave me a bit of a problem. It looked really cracked and was accentuating the wrinkles at the inner corners of my eyes, as well as settling into the wrinkles under my eyes as well.
The Ulta Eye Shadow Sticks worked great, the eyeshadow was still in place and looking beautiful. The L’Oreal Extensionist Mascara didn’t smudge or flake so I was really loving that product too.
The NYX Buttermelt Blush was still in place and I liked how both the Milani Bronzer and Highlighter were looking. While I didn’t love the NYX Lip Liner Stain and couldn’t see it anymore, the Revlon Lipstick was still in place even after eating lunch and not reapplying which I loved. However, I did take off the lipstick so I could try it out in the more nude Cashmere shade.
10-Hour Check-In
I came back for the 10-hour check-in at 10:30 p.m. and can I just say it again? Wow. Wow! WOW! The NYX Make ‘Em Wonder foundation is so, so good! If you’re looking for a new drugstore foundation, definitely give this one a try. It is advertised as 24 hour wear and 10 hours in, while I can’t say it looks just applied, the coverage is solid on my nose, my chin, between my brows, all the places that my foundation would usually be worn off by now. The finish got a little bit more luminous throughout the day, especially by the sides of my nose. It’s a little broken up right at the edge of my nostrils and the corners of my mouth, but I can only see that with my 10x mirror. While it did settle in my smile lines, it didn’t settle in any other wrinkles on my face. Overall a really good foundation that I’m giving holy grail status.
The NYX Wonder Snatch Powder is a very nice setting powder that I really enjoyed. I felt like it really mattified under my eyes and helped to disguise my pores and texture for most of the day. It’s not a super flat matte, so it doesn’t make your makeup look cakey and isn’t drying on the skin.
The NYX Buttermelt Blush is so pretty and could definitely be used as a dupe for NARS Orgasm blush because it’s that same peachy color with a gold overlay. I think the NYX is a little more subtle than the NARS, so I kind of liked this one better. It also still looks terrific after 10 hours and usually my blush is worn off by then. So overall a really great drugstore blush.
The Milani Baked Bronzer in Amalfi Glow was a very pretty bronzer and I really liked that this shade didn’t make me look orange. Even though I use the Milani Baked Highlighter very sparingly, it looks so pretty, especially applied with that really soft, fluffy Nikki LaRose N20 brush. I loved it on the upper bridge of my nose and in the inner corners of my eyes because it brought a little bit of life to my face. This highlighter is very subtle, not glittery, not blingy, not too icy, overall really pretty.
As for the About-Face Concealer, I loved this when I first put it on, but by the time I came back for the 5 and 10 hour check-ins, it was super creased at the inner corners and also in all the smaller wrinkles below my eyes. I will say the coverage was still in place and hadn’t worn off at all, but I won’t be reaching for this one again due to the settling into wrinkles.
The Ulta Eye Shadow Sticks are really creamy, easy to put on, and create really pretty eye looks. My eyeshadow look was still on and didn’t crease at all. I didn’t use an eyelid primer, so you don’t need any extra products with these.
I wasn’t thrilled with the Ulta Automatic Eyeliners when I put them on. In my waterline I didn’t get good payoff and after 10 hours it was completely gone. The one that I used above the eyelashes on my lid hasn’t budged or smudged and still looks really great. I love the colors on them, I just wish that they wore a little better in the waterline.
The L’Oreal Extensionist Mascara, was such a pleasant surprise. There was no chipping, smudging, or fading, and it made my lashes look so much longer and fuller. Definitely give it a try if you’re looking for a good drugstore mascara.
I was not impressed at all with the NYX Lip Liner Stain. I had trouble getting it on and it didn’t even last for 5 hours, which is pretty lame for a stain. I really, really liked both shades of the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick. They’re both very long wearing and I haven’t touched this up since the 5 hour check in and the cashmere shade is still on my lips. I had dinner, drank a glass of water, and was talking on the phone. Also, I didn’t apply a lip liner when I reapplied the cashmere color and it didn’t run up into my lip lines, which is another huge plus. This is a really, really great lipstick that I’m happy with.
