Summer Style for Women Over 50 ~ Lookbook 2013
Summer is my favorite season! I spend 3/4 of the year in sweaters, socks, and scarves, looking forward to the days when dressing is lighter, pared down and easier. But, sadly, as I approached my 50th birthday last summer, I found myself in a bit of a fashion crisis.
As I shopped at my usual stores, trying on my usual style clothes, I began wondering if what I was choosing was “age appropriate”. I got stuck on that term, even though I couldn’t really figure out how it could possibly apply to everyone who’s my age all at once. It took me a while to get past it, but in the end, I decided not to let society place rules on me based on a single factor. . . my age.
For me, clothes are fun… and shopping is fun! It’s one way to express who I am. So, if you’re 50 (or over) I encourage you to wear clothes that you like, to wear styles that flatter your figure, and to wear outfits that make you look good and feel confident.
