Reduce Wrinkles By Sleeping On Your Back + How to Make the Switch!

I used to sleep on my side until my dermatologist told me she could tell which side I slept on just by looking at my wrinkles! I also started noticing a couple of big wrinkles on my chest and decided to start sleeping on my back to get rid of them… and guess what? It worked!

It took some time and trying different pillows and positions but I finally did it with the use of a sleeping wedge. Now that I’ve been sleeping on my back with my head elevated for a few years, I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for reducing wrinkles but also for sleep quality!

Sleeping on my back with head elevated has:

  • decreased the depth of my naso-labial folds
  • completely smoothed out the Y shaped wrinkle on my chest
  • reduced the sagging of my upper eyelid hoods
  • decreased under eye puffiness
  • decreased under eye darkness
  • stopped my tossing and turning from hip pain
  • stopped my aching shoulder/neck from side sleeping

Side or stomach sleeping causes the face to be smooshed into a pillow and that “irons” in wrinkles overnight. Sleeping on your back lets gravity do its work and smooth out that skin.

Sleeping with the head flat causes fluids and blood to pool underneath the eyes resulting in dark circles and puffiness. Sleeping with the head elevated keeps the fluids draining away from the eye area which reduces dark circles and puffiness!
