Sephora VIB Sale Haul | November 2015
Sephora VIB Sale Haul!
I had to pare down my Fantasy Wish List into a more affordable selection of items to include some christmas gifts and refills of products that I’ve almost used up. Here’s what I ended up with:
Palettes:
I picked up the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette* for my daughter for christmas. It’s so pretty, I’m hoping she’ll let me try it out after she’s had a chance to use it!
I know this next palette didn’t get the best reviews, but the colors in it are so perfect for me that I bought it anyway. The Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Edition Makeup Case* includes 30 eyeshadows, highlighter, blush, bronzer, mascara and a brush all for $59! The case is huge and I definitely agree that it takes up too much space but the eyeshadow colors just make me so happy! There are lots of mattes, a good selection of shimmers and very few glitters. The colors all look wearable and there’s not a stupid unwearable shade in the bunch!
I bought the Viseart Matte Eyeshadow Palette* in spite of the $80 price tag because I’ve never heard a bad review on it. I was reluctant to get it because it does look just like the Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral palette that I already own ($20 at Target*) and like. When I review it, I’m going to put it head-to-head with the SK palette.
Another luxury item I bought is Kevin Aucoin The Art of Sculpting & Defining The Contour Book Volume 2* (thank goodness for 20% Off!!). I’m no makeup artist but I’ve been getting lots of requests to do a contouring video lately so I thought I should have a quality product that works well on mature skin. It contains both powder and cream highlight and contour products as well as 4 eyeshadows, a nice sized mirror and an instruction booklet is attached so it won’t fall out and get lost.
I’m late to the party on the Hourglass Ambient powders because I couldn’t ever figure out where/how people use them but they’re so pretty so I thought I’d put my curiosity to rest and try some. I got the Ambient Lighting Palette* that contains 3 of the powders – Dim Light, Incandescent Light, and Radiant Light and I can’t wait to try them out!
Replacement Products:
Much of the fantasy list got deleted in favor of replacing products that are almost used up favorites.
I bought a new Becca Perfect Skin Mineral Powder Foundation* in Sand (a shade lighter for the winter). (review & demo)
I got a new Tarte Clean Slate 360 Creaseless 12 Hour Smoothing Eyelid Primer*. (review)
I got my new fave lipstick Too Faced La Creme* in a couple more shades. I wanted a nude for every day wear and a pop of color for the holidays so I picked up “Nude Beach” which is a pinky nude, and “Coral Fire” which is a gorgeous orangey-red!
My Lancome Hypnose Drama* mascara has dried up and I wanted to replace it, but I also wanted to try another mascara from the line so I got the Lancome Definicils* mascara instead.
Impulse Purchases & Tidbits (and boy do they add up fast!!)
Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Long-Lasting Undereye Concealer*.
Buxom Hold the Line Waterproof Eyeliner* in “I’ll Be Waiting”*.
Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel* in “Granite”.
Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer*.
Oh wow, that was a decadent haul! It’s so unlike me to buy so much at once, but that 20% Off is a real motivator (and did I mention I spent so much I’ve qualified for VIB Rouge?). Yikes! I better get started trying all this out so I can let you know if it’s worth the money or not. . . let me know which products you’re most interested in seeing first!
