Collective Haul ~ MAC, Ulta, Sephora
I’m not really good at “hauling” which is why I rarely do a haul post. I have a hard time dropping a couple hundred dollars on makeup all at once! This small haul took multiple trips to a few different places like the MAC counter, Sephora and Ulta to accumulate these 9 items.
Let’s start at MAC. I was there with my daughter who was getting her makeup done for her senior (high school) portrait. It’s a free service with a $50 purchase so while she was getting even more beautiful, I was playing with everything to choose what to buy. I ended up getting a Mineralize Skin Finish Powder, a Technikohl Eyeliner Pencil, and 2 pots of eyeshadow. I returned the Mineralize powder after a few uses because it felt really drying every time I put it on, but I kept the rest.
MAC Technikohl Liner in Greyprint
I’m not a huge fan of mechanical pencil liners, but I loved the slate blue/gray color of this liner so I got it anyway. I’ve used it a few times and like the satin finish but it’s not the creamiest or easiest to apply.
Mac Satin Finish Eyeshadow Single in Naked Lunch
The MUA used this on my daughter and it looked just gorgeous. It’s a soft, innocent pink with a slight shimmer that was perfect for a high school picture!
Mac Satin Finish Eyeshadow Single in Satin Taupe
I’ve had my eye on this one for quite a while but I never bought it because of the satin finish. I prefer matte finish for my aging, hooded eyelids, but now that my eyelids are improving I’m more inclined to use satin eyeshadows.
Next stop was Ulta for:
Marc Anthony Bye Bye Frizz Shampoo
I’d switched from Bye Bye frizz to try Matrix Fiber Strong shampoo and didn’t like it, so I’m going back to Marc Anthony.
NYX Dream Catcher Palette in Golden Horizons
I was just drawn to these pretty palettes. They come in 4 different color ways and are each a mix of matte, satin, and shimmer eyeshadows.
Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb in Coral Pop
This was another fave from the recent round of Lipstick Testing. It’s a lipstick with built-in plumper. I got it in a nude for the testing and liked it enough to purchase it in a more “pop-y” color!
Ulta Matte Eyeshadow Single in Lock & Key
I love grey eyeshadow, so lucky for me there are a million shades! I probably don’t need another grey eyeshadow, but I wanted to try something from the Ulta line.
Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads
I impulse purchased this from the round display in the register line. I’ve stopped using peels and acids on a daily basis to help clear up my acne, but I feel like my skin could use some brightening so I’ll give these multi-acid pads a try.
I hit Sephora next for some lipsticks to test and also got:
This night-time lip moisturizer gets great reviews, so I’m hoping it’ll help me wake up with fewer lip wrinkles, or if it keeps my lips from drying out during that night, that’ll be good too…
I also picked up a few lipsticks to try out for the next round of lipstick testing. You can see them in the previous post: http://www.hotandflashy50.com/new-lipsticks-fall-2014/
Thanks for stopping by!
