Taking A Break From Foundation Friday Until September

I’m sorry to say that I bit off a bit more than I could chew trying to do “Foundation Friday for Over 50s” as a weekly spot during the summer, so I’ll be taking a break from Foundation Friday until September.

I’ve really been enjoying trying all the different foundations, but I haven’t been enjoying wearing so much makeup every day during the summer. For me, summer’s the time to lighten things up and let my skin “breathe”. It’s also time to enjoy the great outdoors and bike, paddle board and just lay on the beach rather than being chained to my camera with a full face of makeup on.

Don’t worry though, FFOF will be back in September and I’ll try a few things in the mean time so hopefully the first post in the fall will be a winner!!

Hi Angie. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate what you have done with all the foundation reviews. Personally, I have been TORTURED trying to find the perfect foundation for my over 50 skin so I completely understand your frustration!!!!! You certainly have saved me a lot of money with your reviews and I have found the same results with some of the same ones that you have tried. Though I know you prefer a light application of foundation, I have FINALLY found a foundation routine that is called full coverage on a certain beauty gurus channel but it is a routine that you can easily adjust the coverage level. It is AMAZING!!!!!! The guru is Sam Schuerman and it’s her full coverage foundation video. She learned this routine from her aunt who learned it from a makeup artist for Miss England. Even though it’s called full coverage it does not feel heavy at all. I think you would enjoy it even now in the heat of summer especially with all your summer activities. It stays completely flawless all day. I have the same skin type that you have and I am ecstatic with this routine. I have been very reluctant to say this because every time I thought I had it I was let down soon after. I have been doing my makeup this way for a couple of weeks now through all kinds of conditions and I feel I can now safely say it’s THE BEST:). Can you tell I’m excited??? I live in the humid south and it holds up amazingly. BTW you and I have so many similarities from our growing up with the firm videos, our clothing choices, our plantar fasciitis, among other things :). I sure hope you’ll try this. I really do hope if you do that it works as well for you as it has for me. What a relief to find this PERFECT routine. Ahhhhhhh! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a beautiful summer. I look forward to your future videos. OMGosh, just one more thing. Believe it or not I saw that you tried Bobbie browns skin foundation and I thought, I think I have a sample of that. I did and it was in warm beige. Lol:). I wore it to church today and it’s really pretty too but I’m thinking the Estée Lauder routine is untouchable! Keep in mind though, it sounds very heavy but it is not. Hope you’ll try:)

You are wonderful Angie! Hope you have a great August. One suggestions to try in September. Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder. I’ve only been using for a couple of days, but I think I’m in love! It’s very light and forgiving for my dry skin. Nordstroms mailed samples to assist finding the best match. Take care!

Good for you! Relax and enjoy. I tried a new cream stick foundation by Bobbi Brown – it’s surprisingly easy to use. So far I have loved it….and I’m 49. Thought I’d mention it. hugs to you

Dear Angie,
I can’t tell you how pleased I was to find you on YouTube! I just love your site and YouTubes as they are filled with a wealth of wonderful information. You are beautiful and I as well being 55 want to stay looking young for however possible but not be rediculous about it either. Thank you for doing the research for everyone…I have completely change my routine using products you recommend and love love love the results. Thank you and don’t stop! Also, the clothing YouTubes are fabulous!
I’ll be tuning in weekly. Keep up the great work for us gals!

  Refering to the Bobbi Brown foundation dtick … Got the wrong comment, sorry.
  But: The Stick foundationis great, very easy to use and lots of different shades. You can apply only a little or really build it up to full coverage. Love it too, and I’m in my mid forties.

Hi Angie,

I wanted to let you know that I have just learned that Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Foundation has unfortunately been discontinued. I inquired about its absence from department store counters this week and received an email from Estee Lauder customer service informing me of its removal from their line. I thought you’d want to know. 🙁

    I know!!! Apparently they’ve discontinued my holy grail Estee Lauder Futurist in blonde!!! I’ve been buying up the last bottles I can find as there’s been nothing close in the last 10 yrs and I have tried most. Believe me! (My purse will back me up here LOL)
