Use Sunscreen Every Day
Remember when the highest SPF available was a 4, but no one used it anyway because baby oil let you “tan” faster?
Growing up in the 1970s was great, but I so wish I knew then what I know now about the sun’s damaging effects. I could have saved a lot of money on laser treatments and wrinkle creams.
Sun exposure causes age-spots, wrinkles, and skin cancers.
So, use sunscreen every day.
Apply it to your face, neck, chest, and the backs of your hands, because a wrinkly chest and age-spotted hands are a dead give-away of age.
Many wrinkle fighting products like retinols, retin-a, alpha hydroxy acids, etc. make skin more photo sensitive so it’s especially important to protect from the sun.
My go to product is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer in SPF 70. The formula is so light and sheer. It goes on quickly, dries fast, and doesn’t leave any oily or white looking residue. You can wear it over or under your makeup or with no makeup at all.
Use whatever product you like best, but just make sure it’s broad spectrum so it blocks both UVA and UVB rays.
